IUP's Marching Band Welcomes New Maestro to Lead the Charge
IUP Welcomes New Marching Band Director
Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Emily Carter as the new Director of the IUP Marching Band. Dr. Carter brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having previously served as the Director of Bands at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dr. Carter is a highly accomplished musician and educator. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has also studied at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and School.
Under Dr. Carter's leadership, the IUP Marching Band will continue to strive for excellence in musical performance and visual presentation. The band will perform at all home football games, as well as at various other events throughout the year. Dr. Carter is excited to work with the talented students in the IUP Marching Band and to help them reach their full potential.
I am honored to be joining the IUP community and to lead the Marching Band, said Dr. Carter. I am committed to providing our students with a transformative musical experience and to helping them develop as musicians and leaders.
The IUP Marching Band is a vital part of the university community. The band provides entertainment at sporting events and other campus events, and it also serves as a valuable educational experience for its members. Dr. Carter is confident that the band will continue to thrive under her leadership.
